Open Position - SCADA Programmer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary
This position will include providing programming services of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) primarily in the municipal water and wastewater industry.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage all PLC and HMI code development on large-scale, complex projects for municipal water and wastewater SCADA systems.
  2. Complete full project start-up and control system commissioning, including instrumentation and motor control devices.
  3. Communications network commissioning, including fiber-optic, radio telemetry, broadband, and other associated technologies.
  4. Manage all project documentation in accordance with company standards and project-specific requirements.
  5. Communicate with customers throughout the design and construction phases and for aftermarket support.

Competencies

  1. 5 years of programming experience in the following:
    1. PLC programming such as Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000, Modicon, Siemens S7, GE PAC systems, or the like.
    2. HMI programming such as Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, Intellutio,n or the like.
  2. Information Technology experience is a plus.
  3. Candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and clients at all levels.
  4. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.

 Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.  

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those required of an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a 2-year Associate’s degree in an automation-related field, preferred but not required.

5 years of experience in the following:

  • PLC programming such as Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000, Modicon, Siemens S7, GE PAC Systems, or the like
  • HMI programming such as Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, Intellution, or the like
